Vote Power Not Poverty have this morning taken the decision to cancel our plans to hold a rally in Bolton on Saturday 26th March 2022.
Since we first announced our intention to hold a meeting in Bolton, we have been confronted by a wave of abuse, threats and intimidation by people and groups determined to stop any kind of free and democratic discussion on the disastrous Net Zero plans.
We had already been forced to change venue and key speakers have been pressured to withdraw. Our current venue has also now become a target of intimidation.
Amid increasing security concerns, it is becoming clear that we cannot guarantee a safe environment within which people can come together to participate in the rally and so we have no alternative but to cancel.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly and we apologise to the many hundreds of people who had planned to join us a week on Saturday. All tickets will be fully refunded in the coming days.
Be assured that though our rally in Bolton will not go ahead, our campaign to provide cleaner air, improved sustainability and truly affordable energy to Britain will continue unfettered.
Vote Power, Not Poverty.
